Displayed below are diagrams of the AFX Super G+Plus and AFX Turbo/SRT chassis. All of these Tomy AFX Parts are available for repairs. Replacement Body Shells for some of the more popular Tomy AFX slot cars are also available.

Tomy AFX Mega-G Parts
Tomy’s latest chassis, the AFX Mega-G is their fastest chassis to date. This is an all-new design for Tomy. A complete rolling chassis, Pickup Shoes and Tune-Up Kits are currently available, as well as replacement motors, commutator brushes, springs and tubes.
Tomy AFX Mega-G Rolling ChassisThe chassis is available in two (2) configurations; a short wheelbase (SWB) chassis for GT and stock car body shells and a long wheelbase model for Formula 1 and IndyCar racers.
Tomy AFX SWB Rolling chassis includes a GT Body Clip that allows any previous Tomy A/FX body shell as well vintage Aurora A/FX bodies to be mounted to this new state-of-the-art chassis design.
A rolling chassis is a complete running slot car, simply snap an existing Tomy or Aurora A/FX body shell onto the chassis and you’re ready to go racing!
Jel Claw racing slicks are a molded proprietary rubber/silicone blend that work extremely well on plastic and wooden slot car tracks. These tires will slip directly onto the factory front and rear hubs of any Tomy AFX Mega-G or Mega-G+Plus chassis.
Jel Claw tires will fit both the Mega-G and the Mega-G+Plus chassis.
This front end kit will allow a Mega-G chassis to better negotiate tight radius turns. If you have Mega-G cars that tend to hang on tight 6″ radius turns and hairpins this kit should solve your problems.
These kits include a pair of CNC-machined black Delrin front wheels, precision-ground rubber tires, Delrin retainers and a hardened steel axle.
This front end kit will fit both the Mega-G and the Mega-G+Plus chassis.
A Black Delrin O-Ring Front Axle assembly with Axle, Front Hubs and 0.350 O-Ring Tires is also available. This front end kit provides the same factory wheel diameter of 0.350″, but with reduced rolling resistance.
Black Delrin Single-Flanged Rear Hubs in the same factory diameter of 0.265 make it possible to run a CNC machined rear hub in place of the molded Tomy parts.
This front end kit will fit both the Mega-G and the Mega-G+Plus chassis.
An improved splined hardened steel alloy axle makes it possible to mount any Delrin hub you choose without damaging your wheels.
This precision machined hardened steel axle has 15 splines and beveled ends to make wheel mounting a snap.
This rear axle will fit both the Mega-G and the Mega-G+Plus chassis.
A 23T Delrin Crown Gear is also available. This crown gear will fit the Mega-G chassis without interfering with the rear chassis hoop.
A Delrin 7T Pinion Gear and Crown Gear Boss round out the rear axle improvements possible for the Mega-G chassis.
These parts will fit both the Mega-G and the Mega-G+Plus chassis.
Stronger Mega-G Traction magnets really improve the MG chassis’ handling. Try a pair for lower lap times and better control. A pair of these magnets and a set of Silicone or Jel-Claw tires are two of the best upgrades you can make to the MG chassis.

Mega-G++ (MGP) Hop-Up Parts
The parts listed below are for the newer Tomy A/FX Mega-G Plus (MPS) chassis only. These parts will not fit the older Mega-G chassis. If you’re not sure which chassis you have take a look at the Mega-G Plus (MGP) rolling chassis pictured below to make sure you have the newer chassis style.
The Mega-G++ Pickup Springs and Traction magnets shown above can be used with either the Short Wheelbase (SWB) or Long Wheelbase chassis.
The Pickup Shoes and Tune-Up Parts however will only fit on the Long Wheelbase (LWB) chassis.
Mega-G+ (MGP) Rolling Chassis
The Tomy AFX Mega-G+ (MGP) Rolling chassis is available in both Short SWB 1.5″ and Long LWB 1.7″ wheelbase configurations.
Starting in late Fall of 2015 all Tomy slot cars produced will be running this new can-style motor/chassis combination.
This chassis uses a new one-piece can motor and a new pickup shoe design.
Make sure you order Mega-G+ Tune-Up Kits for this new chassis.
Tomy AFX Peugeot 908 Body – WhiteTomy offers the Peugeot 908 LeMans Prototype body shown here in an unpainted version for those wishing to create their own LeMans Prototype or FIA GTP livery.

Tomy AFX Super G+Plus
The Super G+Plus is Tomy’s top of the line chassis. It’s fast, quiet and easy to maintain and repair. Most of the larger Tomy AFX race sets include Super G+Plus cars. Dual traction magnets are fitted behind the motor assembly and add considerable downforce to this fast chassis. Two sets of front axle holes allow for both long and short wheelbase car bodies.

The SG+ Front Axle Assembly comes complete with a pair of front wheels and front axle. Front tires are not included, and must be purchased separately.
The SG+ Rear Axle Assembly includes a pair of rear wheels, an axle and a 25T crown gear and spacer. Rear tires are not included, and must be purchased separately.
Jel Claws are a new high-performance rear tire designed to fit any Tomy AFX Super G+Plus chassis. These tires can be fitted directly to the factory flanged-hub that Tomy uses on its SG+ chassis.
A pair of these tires will do more to improve the performance of box-stock SG+ slot car than any other single performance upgrade you can perform.
Super G+Plus Body Clip
Tomy is no longer producing their GT Body Clip for the Super G+Plus chassis. An alternative clip is now available that will mount any Lexan body shell, or with a little trimming it can also be used to mount any Tomy, Aurora A/FX, Tyco or Life-Like body shell. If you’re handy with a hobby knife this clip will work well to mount just about any HO scale slot car body to the Tomy AFX Super G+Plus rolling chassis.
The Polymer motor magnets listed above will fit in the Tomy Super G+Plus as well as BSRT G3 and G3-R chassis.
Super G+Plus Traction PolyMags
These Polymer Traction Magnets are a direct replacement for the original Tomy AFX Gray 2-Dot magnets offered in the Tomy Primus EX series. They are 22.5% stronger than the current traction magnets, but can still be used on tracks powered by standard set wall packs.
These magnets are legal in most box-stock racing classes! See the Magnets page for more information.
These Polymer Traction Magnets are a also a direct replacement for the original Tomy AFX traction magnets but offer much higher level-25 downforce.
The SG+ Armature Removal Tool allows you to easily remove the motor armature without damaging the chassis or the Motor Endbell Assembly.
Viper Super G+Plus Racing Chassis
The Viper is a direct replacement for the Tomy Super G+Plus slot car chassis. All of your Tomy SG+ and BSRT parts will fit the viper chassis.
The Viper chassis includes a lightened and improved motor timing bracket and traction magnet clip.
Integral body mounting tubes are molded into the sides of the chassis along with pre-drilled holes at the rear for axle pinning.
The front of the chassis incorporates a sturdy bumper to protect the front guide pin and pickup shoe mounts. The Viper chassis can be fitted with a Tomy GT Body Clip. The body tubes can be removed if a clip is used or an F1/IndyCar body is mounted.
A second Viper chassis with Polymer Traction magnets pre-installed is also available.
This chassis shares all of the features of the standard Viper chassis, with the addition of a pair of traction magnets pre-installed.
Viper Super G+Plus Racing Parts
The Viper parts listed below fit the Viper Racing chassis as well as any Tomy SG+ or BSRT G2/G3 slot car chassis.
Viper front end kits include a hardened steel axle, black Delrin hubs and factory standard 0.350″ diameter front o-ring tires.
Black Delrin Rear hubs are also available, along with a splined rear axle and smooth, quiet-running precision machined Delrin motor pinions and crown gears.
These parts when combined with a Viper Racing chassis make it possible to build a quiet, fast and smooth-running HO slot car.
The GT Body Clip below fit any Tomy SG+, Viper or BSRT G3 chassis.

If you have older or badly damaged SG+ chassis it’s often more cost effective to simply replace the entire chassis with a new unit, than it is to purchase all of the parts individually to repair it. Any of your Tomy bodies will snap right onto a new rolling chassis.
The Tomy AFX Super G+Plus Rolling Chassis has two sets of front axle openings for both short and long wheelbase body shells. Non-Indy/F1 body shells require a GT Body Clip listed above.
TIP: You can strip down those old worn out or damaged SG+ chassis and keep all of the serviceable parts such as motors, axles, magnets and clips in your parts bin for future repairs.
Aurora AFX Owners can snap their older Aurora AFX bodies right on to a Tomy AFX Super G+Plus chassis too. When Tomy purchased the assets of the Aurora Plastics Company they designed the SG+ chassis to make use the large inventory of existing Aurora AFX body shells they had acquired, as well as new body moldings they were developing.
Auto World & Johnny Lightning X-Traction Owners can also upgrade their XT Slot Cars using the Tomy AFX Super G+Plus Rolling Chassis and a GT Body Clip.
Tomy AFX Body Shells
I also carry Tomy AFX body shells. These bodies snap right onto any Mega-G SWB, Super G+Plus, SRT Wide or Turbo GT chassis.

The BMW M1 body shell is a particularly good racing body. It’s the lightest GT body that Tomy offers. It has a removable windshield for easy painting without masking and the body itself has working ventilation louvers front and rear for superior motor cooling. With a little paint and some Decals you’ll have one of the fastest and nicest looking Tomy slot cars around.
The BMW 320i body shell shown above is another excellent racing body. Like the BMW M1, it’s light in weight and has a removable windshield that makes it an easy body to repaint. The light body color makes priming and painting a simple task. When painted orange and decorated with the Jagermeister decals sold on the Decals page you can create a really nice BMW 320i race car.
Tomy SG+ F1/IndyCar Body Shells
The body shells shown below fit the Tomy AFX Super G+Plus chassis only. See the SRT/Turbo Body Shell section below for F1/IndyCar body shells that fit on an SRT or Turbo chassis.

Tomy AFX Turbo & SRT Chassis
A Tomy Super Racing Turbo (SRT) chassis is a Tomy AFX Turbo chassis with a Super G+Plus armature installed in the motor can and a Neodymium Traction Magnet instead of the ceramic magnet used in the standard Tomy AFX Turbo chassis.

The Polymer Traction Magnet listed above is stronger than the stock factory ceramic magnet. While not as strong as the Neodymium magnet used in the SRT chassis, the Polymer magnet will improve the performance of any Tomy A/FX Turbo chassis.
The Turbo Front Axle Assembly comes complete with a pair of front wheels and tires along with an axle.
The Turbo Rear Axle Assembly includes a pair of rear wheels, an axle and a 22T crown gear and spacer. Rear tires are not included, and must be purchased separately.

A Tomy AFX Turbo Headlight Kit can also be used to replace a burned out light in an Aurora A/FX Lighted chassis or an Aurora T-Jet Flamethrower.

Tomy AFX Racing Tees
Tomy AFX Racing Tee-Shirts are 100% pre-shrunk cotton. AFX logos are silk-screened on both the front and back. Available in sizes from Small to 3X-Large.
Chassis Handling Characteristics
The traction magnet on the Turbo and SRT chassis runs the full width of the chassis, unlike the smaller pair of traction magnets used on the Super G+Plus chassis, which are positioned directly above the power rails.
The Super G+Plus chassis tends to lose its magnetic downforce as the rear end drifts out and the smaller traction magnets loose their focus, while the Turbo and SRT chassis, with its full-width magnets, will maintain downforce even when the rear end slides out.
The Super G+Plus is the fastest of the Tomy AFX chassis. The SRT chassis is a close second, and on some shorter tracks with a lot of twisty turns may actually be slightly faster than the Super G+Plus.
The original Tomy AFX Turbo is the slowest of the Tomy offerings, but many racers prefer its slower and more controllable handling characteristics. If you liked the driving style of the original Aurora Thunder-Jet and AFX chassis you may want to try a Tomy Turbo.
The original Tomy AFX Turbo provides many of the same driving and handling characteristics of earlier Aurora chassis. They are faster than earlier Aurora chassis, but you can still hang the rear end out in the turns if that’s what you like to do. They’re also much easier to repair and maintain than the original Aurora products.
Body Shell Interchangeability
Tomy body shells sold with the various Super G+Plus, SRT and Turbo chassis are interchangeable, with the exception of the open-wheeled Formula 1/IndyCar models. Open-wheeled bodies sold with SG+ and Turbo/SRT chassis can not be swapped between chassis types.
The original Aurora AFX, Magna-Traction and G+Plus bodies can be mounted on modern Tomy Super G+Plus, SRT and Turbo chassis with the exception of the Ferrari 312 and 365 sportscars and most Aurora G+Plus F1 cars which were designed specifically for the then-new Aurora G+Plus chassis.
A Tomy AFX Rolling chassis is a great way to improve the performance of an original Aurora A/FX, Magna-Traction or G+Plus car. Because these bodies can snap right onto a modern Tomy chassis it’s often cheaper to simply buy a modern roller as to repair and replace worn out parts on an older Aurora slot car.
Note: The original Aurora Model Motoring T-Jet bodies are too small and can not be used on either Aurora AFX or modern Tomy chassis.
The table below shows which body styles will fit on each of the various Tomy chassis currently available. The table also includes the proper Tomy chassis needed for Johnny Lightning and Auto World bodies as well as vintage Aurora A/FX and A/FX Magna-Traction bodies.

BSRT makes a full range of high-performance parts to improve the speed and handling of any Tomy AFX slot car. These parts are manufactured to the highest quality standards and will improve the performance of any box-stock Tomy AFX Mega-G, Super G+Plus, Super Racing Turbo (SRT) or Turbo chassis.
BSRT Oil & Lubricants
BSRT Silicone Rear Tires are a direct slip-on replacement for all Tomy AFX Turbo/SRT and Mega-G slot cars. A set of these rear tires will improve the handling and cornering of any box-stock Tomy AFX Turbo, SRT or Mega-G chassis.
Note: The Tomy AFX Super G+Plus chassis will require either a set of BSRT 0.250 Delrin Hubs or a BSRT G3 Wheel Set to use the BSRT Black Silicone Tires described above.
BSRT G3 Chassis w/ Magnet Clip
BSRT also manufactures a replacement for the box-stock Tomy AFX Super G+Plus chassis. All of the standard Tomy SG+ parts will snap right into this chassis. Your Tomy motor, magnets, electricals, wheels and tires will all fit right into this improved chassis, as well as any of the BSRT hop-up parts listed here.
BSRT G3 Chassis with Traction Magnet ClipRead all about this improved chassis in the BSRT G3 section. A BSRT G3 chassis will greatly improve upon both the speed and handling of a box-stock Tomy Super G+Plus chassis.
BSRT offers a drilling fixture that can be used lighten any crown gear by drilling 6 concentric holes around the crown gear surface. This tool takes the guesswork out of lightening a crown gear and assures that the holes are evenly spaced for proper balance.
Axle Drill Blanks (Tool Steel)
Axle Drill Blanks are precision ground from hardened tool steel and will not bend. They are 1.750″ in length and need to be cut to length.
Use a Dremel Tool with a cut-off wheel to cut them to exactly the length you want.
Some racers prefer the slightly smaller diameter Tyco (0.0595) Drill Blank because it turns more freely in the Tomy Super G+Plus and BSRT G3 Rear Axle openings.
